With more attractions per square mile than any other city in the UK, York is home to everything from museums, theatres and galleries to hidden gems and must-see attractions and iconic historic buildings. There are exhibits of Roman, Viking and medieval remnants. The Minster and Cliffords Tower provide some solid history to gaze at and the railway museum displays some iconic engineering. If none of that appeals, the Shambles offers lots of quaint shops and Alice can provide advice on a decent place to eat.
