What is a u3a? – A u3a (University of the Third Age) brings together people in their third age, that is, the age when you have finished working full-time or raising your family and have time to pursue your interests or just try something new by learning in a friendly and informal environment. There are no qualifications – it is just for pleasure. Learning is its own reward, and all on a voluntary basis.
Sandbach & District u3a – Currently has over 1300 members and over 100 interest groups covering subjects such as art and crafts, languages, philosophy, computer studies, walking, keeping fit, bowls etc. The full list is under Groups in the menu at the top.
The Social Committee – Many trips and outings are organised for members to enjoy. Details here.
Membership Cost – Currently £5 a year, plus a nominal group charge per session.
