Members are invited to a social meeting each month. A speaker or alternative form of entertainment is provided, and members enjoy refreshments whilst catching up with friends.
These meetings are held in Sandbach Town Hall on the first Monday of each month throughout the year and run from 10.00 am to 12 noon. Speakers are scheduled to begin at 10:30.
Peter Sykes is a retired surgeon whose reflections on a long and rewarding career in the NHS have resulted in the publication of a number of light- hearted novels and short stories.
His talk revolves around the lighter side of hospital life; tales about interesting patients, amusing anecdotes and humorous events that he has witnessed as a ‘houseman’ in years gone by.
Peter speaks for 40 to 45 minutes and will then ask for any questions. His aim is for his talk to be interesting, entertaining and slightly educational.
Peter does not charge a fee but requests a donation to the East Cheshire Hospice.
