Update to All Members

Members Meeting. Monday 8th April.

You are all invited to our next Members Meeting on 8th April at Sandbach Town Hall. We open from about 9.40 for members to come in for a drink and a chat.

If you are coming along for the first time, we have a meet and greet team who will introduce you to other members.

Our guest speakers this month are Kevin and Joy Siddall who are returning to Sandbach u3a with one of their presentations entitled ‘ The DNA of British Musicals’.  Kevin and Joy are always well received and everyone leaves the hall with a good feeling for a Monday morning and start of the week.

Kevin & Joy say

Our performances are a mix of songs and stories that last around 60 minutes. We sing, accompanied by high quality backing tracks, an acoustic guitar and on occasions a ukulele.

Through song and story, we look at the make-up of “British” Musical Theatre.

We will explore its origins, its development, and its popularity. During this performance you will hear a selection of some of the great show tunes that we know and love.

Join us as we raise the DNA curtain on the musical theatre of the West End.

May’s members’ meeting will be on 6th Monday 6th May and will feature a speaker from the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital at Stapeley Grange

Do you know?

Many of us now have smartphones and on many of them when you go to the screen where you enter your unlock code there is a button marked ‘Emergency’

The emergency services know about this and it is easier for them to locate your phone than search for your wallet or purse.

The information that can be entered and viewed by the emergency services includes an ICE (in case of emergency contact), your address and medical information e.g. blood group, medications you take, allergies or other information that could be useful.

You can input as much or as little information as you like.

Each phone may be slightly different in how you access the screens to input this information, but it’s probably in Setting and under a heading such as Safety and Emergency.
