The semi-annual quiz was held on 12 April in St Mary’s Church Hall, where 17 teams battled it out to win the prestigious title of top quizzer. On this occasion the winner was Universally Challenged but the top five scores differed by no more than 2 points. Julie Clarke with husband Ian produced the questions directed the action while Kevin Dean kept the scores. Jim Thompson supplied the sound system.
Julie included some puzzles from a book she was given aged 9 hoping to show that children were smarter then. In the event, most of the teams scored all questions correctly. This clearly demonstrates that u3a makes people clever.
