Andrew Emmerson JP is a sitting Magistrate in Cheshire. His talk is about the work of a Magistrate and what really occurs in the courts each day. His objective is that his audience has a better understanding of the role of their local Magistrates and has confidence in the fairness of the administration of justice.
Andrew’s talk will include details about the history of the role and how the criminal justice system works. He will share stories from the recent cases that he has dealt with (with no breach of confidentiality) and the lessons he’s learnt from his many years as a Justice of the Peace.
