U3a Quiz
The next U3A quiz is arranged for Wednesday 2nd April in St Mary’s Church Hall, Sandbach. Julie Clarke will devise the questions and operate the microphone on the night. The hall will open at 7pm and the questions will start at 7:30. Each team may have up to six members, who should a) bring their own drinks and snacks and b) pay the £1.50 entry fee per team member.
This is a popular event, and the hall allows only 24 teams so prompt action is required. The only way to participate is to send an email to kev1dea2@gmail.com. Please don’t just turn up on the night expecting the necessary materials to be prepared for your team.
The email should contain the name of your team and its captain. The organiser will respond to every entry received to confirm your place in the quiz. If you don’t receive a response within a week, you should resend your application because the organiser did not receive it.
Sandbach u3a 2025 AGM
This is being held on 3rd March at Sandbach Town Hall at 9.30am before the members meeting which in March will feature Mark Wilkinson and Jimmy Charles from Foden’s band who will be talking about the history of the band. The papers for the AGM can be found here where you can also cast your vote.
Dementia Friendly Session

To become a Dementia Friend, all you have to do is attend an Awareness Session, lasting 45-60 minutes face to face (or 30-35 minutes online via Zoom), and commit to personal dementia friendly action(s). The next online session via zoom, open to all, is on Wednesday 12th February, setting up from 6.45pm to start at 7pm. There will be a further one on 5th March at the same time.
