Patchwork Group

This group meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month from September to May in Winterley and would welcome some new members.   Besides working on on-going sewing projects, large or small, the group also does joint projects if several people are interested in trying a particular pattern or learning a new patchwork technique.   The group is a very friendly and sharing one with help always to hand for those sewing crisis all of us experience!!    This past year several of the group have been working on a Sampler Quilt pattern and these quilts will be on display at the 21st Anniversary weekend at a stall in the Masonic Hall together with examples of smaller projects. Please do come along and say hello and learn more about the group.

Congleton u3a jazz band is looking for a new Music Director. Message from Linda Messham (group leader) “Our current MD is stepping down at the end of August after our gig at the Congleton Jazz and Blues Festival. Are you interested in the role, starting in the autumn term? We are a 20-piece band with vocalist who play big band jazz and swing music. We rehearse in Mossley Village Hall on Thursday afternoons (2 – 4pm) during u3a terms. We aim to perform 3 or 4 times a year. If you would like more information about us, please contact me.
